Welcome to Dupont Circle
Welcome to Dupont Circle, a vibrant and eclectic neighborhood in D.C. As one of the international culture centers, Dupont Circle offers a little something for everyone! From boutique shopping to bookstore browsing, you'll find it here.
Dupont Circle is home to dozens of exciting restaurants along Connecticut Avenue, bookstores, boutiques, museums, tea stores, galleries, Tarot card spiritualists, and a farmers market. Every day laid-back locals and tourists flock to the iconic Dupont Circle fountain to read, people-watch, and meet up with others.
Esthete can gallery hop around for First Friday Dupont or experience The Phillips Collection, America's first museum of modern art. Walk down Embassy Row, where you can find many embassies that start on Massachusetts Ave and cut right through the circle, and admire the dominant Beaux-Arts architecture in the area.
Regarding the dining scene, expect the international flavor of the embassies to rub off on restaurants. Dupont dining spots diverge outward from the central circle. You will find a diverse mix of marquee restaurants, casual cafes, brunch hot spots, and late-night dining options. Try Michelin-starred dining at Sushi Taro, one of the District's best Japanese restaurants, or try the farm-to-table fare at The Pembroke. On Sunday, visit a year-round Dupont Circle Farmer's Market in front of the Metro Station entrance on Q and 20th Street.
