Jazz lovers can go to 8th and Taylor Street from May through September to watch Petworth Jazz Project performs. For fresh produce, visit the Petworth Community Market, a weekly farmer's market held on Saturdays from May through November. They also offer prepared food and see local vendors like Sweet Crimes, Panorama Bakery, and Harrar Coffee & Roastery. The market also hosts performances by musicians, artists, and chefs who put together a cooking demonstration.
The Petworth restaurant scene is also exceptional. Try this superb, industrial chich space pizza restaurant, Timber Pizza Co, or experience creative cocktails at Dos Mamis.
If you are a bookworm or just looking for something to fill your bookcases, you can check out Loyalty Bookstore. You will find quirky picture books, a book about D.C.'s past and present, work from local authors, novels, puzzles, and much more.
